How To Find My Credit Scores Easily.

February 7th, 2010

There are several ways I can find my credit score. It is easy and free, I will explain how now. This is the first step needed to clean bad credit.

An easy way for you to find your credit scores is asking your financial institute who has pulled your report as a result of you looking to get a car loan or mortgagee. Each time I am seeking a new loan I will do this; it is an easy way to find my credit scores!

If you already know, or can obtain your score, you can get your credit report from the credit bureaus. They are required to send a copy of our credit report each year for free. There are three ways to do this.

1. Go to the Annual Credit Report website and request it there.

2. Call (877) 322-8228 and request it here.

3. Fill out and send a request form to Annul Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348. You can get the PDF orm at the FTC website..

If you currently possess your score this will work because the free yearly reports do not include your score. If not there are other ways in which to find your credit score and report.

The credit bureaus and other sites on the web will offer credit reports and scores, a good way to find your credit score. On a trial basis they will give you access to these for free. If you would rather not to pay you will need to cancel before the end or the trial period. Also they offer additional services like notices when an inquiry into your credit or a negative entry is added to your credit report. These are valuable in monitoring your report. I use one of these services and receive email alerts when a negative entry is made allowing me to investigate immediately.

How do I find my credit score? Now you know.

You have your score and report; look at these 5 areas to improve your credit score.

1. Payment history is the most critical. Make payments on time.

2. The second most important are your account balances. Improving debt-to-credit-limit ratios will improve your score.

3. Only time and proper management will help histories less than 3 years.

4. Balance out your credit cards and installment accounts.

5. Multiple credit inquiries in a short time can hurt your credit score. Checking your own score will not.

Once you find your credit score and report you can improve credit by making payments on time, reducing balances and balancing the types of credit used.
